Welcome to Three Sisters Make!

Inspired by the cookbook Three Sisters Bake: Delectable Recipes for Every Day, we aim to try many of the recipes in this book and share our results. Though cooking is our main mission, we will also focus on all things culinary such as visits to local farmers markets, growing ingredients in our home gardens, and even interesting new products we find at food shops.

Our first cooking endeavor is the Banana Bread, found on page 24 of the Brunch chapter in Three Sisters Bake. (We won't give you the recipe; instead, we encourage you to purchase the book on Amazon.com or at your local bookstore.) We decided to use a Kreamer bread pan, which our mother told us belonged to our great-grandmother. Kathy was the chef for this recipe, and I documented the process in photos.

Kathy didn't have caster sugar, so she substituted granulated sugar. She also used walnuts and Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate.

We discovered that Kathy has very small hands, so we went with more than one handful of chips. We are so clever! ;-)

Here are a few more photos from the baking process:

Before it hit the oven!

Fresh from the oven! It looks so beautiful and delicious!

Of course, taste is everything. Let's try a piece!

Yum!!!

Kathy says this bread is super-easy to make. I say it's also incredibly yummy! :-) One thing Kathy likes about the Three Sisters Bake cookbook is they include both metric and imperial measurements. We hope you purchase this book and try this recipe, too!

Until next time.... Kathy, Nicki, and Christy (Three Sisters Make)
